At my last appointment on Tuesday, I was hooked up to the NST as usual. The bottom number is supposed to be low, as close to 0 as possible, when baby isn't moving around. And it has been up until now. Tuesday it hovered around 30-40 most of the time and got up to 65ish during a contraction. (I thought I'd been having them since Friday but being that I've never gone through this before, I wasn't sure that's what it was). Anyways, this was my conversation with the dr.
Dr: Hey Tiffany, how's it going today?
Me: Not bad. Why is that the bottom number on here is so much higher this week?
Dr: Oh, you're contracting.
Me: Um, I'm only 35 weeks. Is that okay?
Dr: Yeah. You're not in labor or you'd be much more uncomfortable. Some people just contract earlier.
Me: Well, it's not exactly the most comfortable thing in the world. Should I expect this to go on until I deliver?
Dr: Probably.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrreat. :-P
