Another month has already passed! Gosh, time sure goes fast now that you're around to entertain me and keep me busy. :) With the passing of this month also comes the end of 2010. We're officially entering a new decade and I couldn't be more happy to have you with us for 2011! This year is sure to bring us a lot of fun. You'll learn to crawl, walk, talk, eat real food, etc. It's going to be a blast... but for now, I'm happy to have you right where you are.

As of your checkup on December 29, you weigh 14 pounds and 14 ounces and are 24.5 inches long. That puts you in the 57th percentile. What a big guy you're getting to be! You are wearing 6-9 month clothes and even have a couple of 12 month pajamas because your feet are too big for the others. Unfortunately, you take after your momma with the big feet!
You laugh. A lot. It is the best sound ever. It's like music to my ears and I'll do just about anything to get that sweet squeal to escape those lips. Once you start you don't want to stop! You are ticklish too, but mostly only when I try. You especially like to be tickled under your arms and along your ribcage. Sometimes your back is ticklish too. When you start laughing, every now and again a big belly laugh escapes and I cry because I'm laughing along with you so much.
We are still going strong with breastfeeding. You're starting to go a little longer now during the day (about 2.5 hours, sometimes 3) and about 3.5-4.5 hours at night. This is a welcome change (the nighttime feedings especially!) I think you are getting more efficient during those feedings so you can hurry up and play!!
This month we switched you out of the Puj tub and into your "big boy" tub. At first you weren't so sure. You liked to sit in it clothed and play with your toys, but when we put you in it for your first bath on Christmas night you just kind of looked at us. You loved the Puj because you constantly had warm water running over you, but sadly you outgrew our sink. The more we bathe you in the new tub the more you like it. You have room to splash around and you're finally getting the hang of it.
You still hate the car. I really don't know what else to try! We bought you a mirror because while at home you love to look at yourself and talk. It didn't help. We bought you some fun toys to attach to the handle. It didn't help. You are generally okay if I sit back there with you, but of course that isn't always feasible. I honestly think you just don't like to be out of my view! Silly boy.
Speaking of, you're kind of in a "mommy phase" right now. You'll let others hold you... for about 10 seconds, and only if I'm in your view. It's starting to get better, and I know it's just a phase and you'll grow out of it. When you get upset and want me back, your lower lip goes out and you just look so pathetic. It really is adorable though!

December meant your first snowfall, your first visit with Santa, your first long car trip and your first Christmas!! We were very busy!
I don't think you're a huge fan of the cold. When the wind blows you take a sharp breath in and get this look on your face like you just aren't a happy camper. I think you take after me in that department too.
You were a trooper when it came time to tell Santa what you wanted for Christmas. Your dad and I took you to Easton and the line was an hour long! I held you in the Moby and you looked around and watched everyone for most of the time. Eventually you got tired and a little fussy but you held out. When it was our turn you sat on Santa's lap and didn't even cry! We were very proud of you. :)
Christmas was so, so great. We had everyone come to us so we wouldn't have to get you out and about all day. I wanted you to enjoy the day with your toys in your own surroundings, and you certainly did! You were able to nap on schedule, go to bed on schedule, and play with all of your goodies without having to be out in the cold and shuffled around. I think it'll be our new tradition. You were very spoiled!! You helped us open your gifts by pulling on a corner of the wrapping paper once we got it started. You looked at each one with bright eyes and played with most of them! I think your favorite for now is the Winkle ball. It's colorful, easy to hold, and fun to chew on. I think there will be many more favorites too, as you grow into them.

Well little buddy, my big 4 month old, I hope you always remember how much I cherish my time with you. Every single second I get to play with you, hold you, nurse you, and love you I'm thanking God for you. I can't believe how lucky we are to have you. You are truly a blessing and you make me happier than I ever dreamed possible.
As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be...
Love you sweet baby,
Mommy
