Welcome, babies!

My water broke on Monday morning- February 6th at 36 weeks exactly- around 5am. We got to the hospital shortly after 6am and got prepped for the c-section and the babies were born at 8:27am.

Adelyn Claire came out first weighing 6 pounds 7 ounces and 18.5" long. Pink, screaming, very healthy!

Delaney Paige came just a few seconds later (they were born in the same minute) weighing 6 pounds 6 ounces and 18.5" long. Pink, screaming, and healthy other than swallowing some extra fluid on her way out.

Adelyn spent the week with us on the mother/baby floor but Delaney had to go to the NICU. At first they suctioned her really well and had her on cpap but she quickly graduated to a nasal cannula and then a few days later got rid of that as well. Her respiratory problems seem to be in the past and now she's just working on feeding. We're hoping to have her home with us soon. I'll update on our NICU experience as well as a birth story soon.

A couple of quick pictures... the first is in recovery which is the only time they got to be together post-birth. The second is from today when we visited Delaney. Because of flu season, only parents and grandparents are allowed to visit but they made a special exception for us since they are twins. So other than that hour in recovery on Monday, this was their first time together. It was so special! I have more pictures (obviously!) and will try to get back soon to share them!
