Nursing twins is hard. Really hard sometimes. I generally feed them one at a time and usually it works out that the second one stays asleep until it's their turn or is satisfied with the pacifier.
Except sometimes it doesn't always work that way and they're both screaming to eat and you have no choice but to manage to get them both latched on and hope to hold them there uncomfortably until they get their bellies full.
That's when it's the hardest. It's not like you can look at your screaming newborns and choose which is hungrier.
Tonight I fed them together and as uncomfortable as it was for me, it was also so sweet to watch them look up at me together and even watch each other.
But the best part? It was when they drifted to sleep at the same time, full bellies and a milky smile on their faces. Moments like those remind me that it's all worth it.
