Appointment Update

I had a regularly scheduled appointment today with my OB. I went in expecting him to not be there, because I knew an acquaintance of mine who also sees him was about to deliver her son. What I was not expecting was the news that he would be out for the next 4+ weeks so I won't see him again until I'm at least 33 weeks.

Not cool.

He's having a total knee replacement, so I get that he needs to be out. What kind of makes me angry is that I didn't know about it. I had a ton of things I wanted to talk to him about but instead I had to ask a doctor whom I've never met before and who has different ideas/plans than I do. He'll be the one I see until my own OB comes back.

Let's face it, I could have the babies at or before 33 weeks. I HOPE NOT... but it's a possibility. My OB and I had planned on having a vaginal birth if Baby A was head down and Baby B was smaller- even if she was breech. This doctor (and the others in the practice) will not do a breech extraction so now the very real possibility of a c-section is upon me. With twins, I always knew it was a possibility... but I don't want one. *pout*

In other news, my blood pressure is creeping up so now I'm going twice a week for NST's. My weight is "great" and I'm measuring at 41 weeks- not 37-38 like I thought from the "guesstimate" last week.

All I can do at this point is a) hope my doctor recovers quickly, b) hope these babies find themselves better positions than their current transverse preference, and c) keep these girlies cookin' as long as possible!

  1. 41 weeks?! No wonder you're feeling so uncomfortable!!

That's a bummer about your doctor. Hopefully the girls stay put until your OB is back in action!
