4 Months Old

Dear Adelyn and Delaney,

You are 4 months old today! That's 1/3 of a year... already. I don't remember time going quite this fast with your brother. You are the happiest babies I've ever seen. You smile at everyone, don't cry hardly at all, sleep like champs... we got LUCKY! :)

Adelyn, you love to "talk" to everyone and just had your first giggle today! You love to be held and cuddled and talked to. You enjoy swinging, playing on the floor mat and watching your mobile. You do not like tummy time on the floor but it's okay if you are propped by the boppy... for a few minutes. You demand to nurse every 3 hours to the minute. You fall asleep with your lovey grasped safely in your arms, your paci in your mouth and usually a hint of a smile on your face. By my guess you are about a half pound bigger than your sister... I think it's because you always eat a little bit longer. You LOVE your brother and your face lights up when he talks to you. You are starting to grasp toys when we hand them to you as well as bat at toys on your play mat! Your favorite thing is getting your diaper changed. It comes off and your face explodes in a huge grin. Your least favorite is waiting your turn to eat! You are my little sweety girl and I love you to pieces. 

Delaney, you could charm the socks off of a statue. If someone is giving you attention you are thrilled. You will smile and coo non-stop even if you are absolutely exhausted. You giggled for the first time about two weeks ago and you especially do it if you are being tickled. You are ticklish under your ribs, just like your brother. You love being cuddled to sleep before your naps. You aren't big on putting yourself to sleep yet. ;) You like to snuggle your face up against your lovey to fall asleep for naps. You always (well nearly always) wake up before your sister in the morning, but that means you get some extra cuddles and first chance to eat! Smart girl. At night when you get swaddled your eyes automatically get heavy. You really like the play mat more than any of your other toys. You like to look at yourself in the mirror, out the door if I put you next to it or reach for your toys. I think you are going to be a "thinker" because it's like you're always trying to figure things out. My precious little punkin'- I love you to pieces!

You are both still very scheduled which I love. You eat 5 times during the day- every 3 hours and then sleep for about 11 hours. We loosely follow the "EASY" plan of eat, sleep, play. You seem to get tired after being awake for 60-70 minutes and then usually take a nap pretty easily if we manage to get you down soon enough. You are both happy most of the time! When you aren't happy those little bottom lips start quivering and stick out. It's pathetically adorable.

You've brought SO MUCH joy to our lives. SO MUCH. We can't imagine a more perfect family...
