Then a nestie friend found a Martha Stewart tutorial on making your own and you all know I'm a DIY queen so I figured, why not!
I didn't get quite as fancy as Martha because I was fond of the natural look of the BBBlocks. Here's my material list, instructions, and my photos:
Materials:
3 2"x2" wooden blocks (I bought them from Hobby Lobby for 99 cents each)
3 plaques (mine are about 2.5" by 8" I'd say... also from Hobby Lobby in a bag of random wood pieces that cost $3.99)
Modge Podge (I chose matte)
a paint brush
your choice of letters/numbers... I used the cricut to cut mine, but stickers or foam letters would work just as well.
Instructions:
My blocks had already been sanded so this project was super easy. I cut out all of the letters/numbers (I used 0, 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and letters to write week, weeks, month, months, year, and years). Then using your paint brush, paint a thin layer of modge podge over the surface of the block and adhere your number. Once it's in place, paint another layer over top and allow time to dry. Repeat with each side of the block (I only used the 4 sides, not the top and bottoms) and the word blocks. Voila!
Finished product:
You can expect to see these a lot once baby is here! :)
They turned out great , Love them !!
