Yesterday my husband had the day off work (a very RARE, but wonderful thing in the Spring/Summer). He convinced me to stay home by telling me we'd work on the nursery. We had other things to do too, but most of them are going to be put off until the weekend because let me tell you, The Great Nursery Clean-Out took FOREVER. I really wish I had taken a before/after picture. It was a mess. It was our storage/my getting ready area. It had everything ranging from suitcases to teaching stuff to kitchen appliances, scrapbook materials, makeup, paperwork, DVD's, etc. It was a MESS. I was a nice wife and let him sleep in until 10:30. By the time he got up and we had lunch, we didn't really get started on the nursery until noon. We worked non-stop until almost 4pm! But, the great news is that it's DONE!! The only things we have left in there are a twin size bed (being returned to his parents upon our next trip home), a 20" tv and a huge mirror (being listed on Craigslist today). When we return the twin size bed, we'll bring back and set up the crib. I can't believe it- it's starting to feel real!! :)
The only bad thing about The Great Nursery Clean-Out? Well, I think I overdid it a bit. We had a ton of boxes to move to the attic and I was lifting too much. I just overall did too much and I'm paying for it today. I'm moving at a slug's rate. In fact, one of my 2nd graders said (after me apologizing for being a slow-poke today) "I've seen turtle's walk, but this is ridiculous!" Hahahaha. I laughed and laughed. Anyways, I think I've got a date with my microwavable rice sock and my back after school today.
Note to self: You are pregnant. You can't do things like you used to. Take it easy!
